During this virtual brown-bag lunch session, Olga Mesropova (Associate Professor of Russian, World Languages and Cultures) will discuss her experiences of designing and delivering high-enrollment (200+ students), online, asynchronous Russian culture courses.

Drawing upon first-hand experience of teaching such classes since 2016, she will share some of the pedagogical challenges, insights, and best practices for creating an engaging online learning environment and maximizing student learning. She will also address ways of increasing the instructor's "visibility" in large online classes, as well as strategies for providing effective feedback and managing grading load.
