Writing and Media Center Speaker Series on Language and Communication Justice
Explore language and communication justice through the lens of art, design and creativity.

Panelists
Join panelist Jordan W. Brooks in discussing the communication of race, culture, and history through imagery and how, through artistic practices, we can name and embody injustice and liberation. Mani Mina invites you to examine the role of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) in bringing STEM, social, and design disciplines into harmony and how we can re-engineer student engagement through empathy. And join Lucia M. Suarez in conversation about her current research on Afro-Bahian dance, Latinx memoirs, and the work of creatives in engaging human rights work - and how this research grounds her pedagogy in connective learning and outreach.
