This 3-part workshop will introduce deep learning techniques and applications. Deep learning is a powerful AI approach that uses layered artificial neural networks to deliver state-of-the-art accuracy in tasks such as object detection, speech recognition, and language translation. Using deep learning, computers can learn and recognize patterns from data that are considered too complex or subtle for expert-written software.

Workshop details and registration are available on the University Library website.

The first session (Sept 18) focuses on the mechanics of deep learning with a focus on computer vision.
The second session (Sept 25) will use pre-trained models and deep learning models to solve problems.
The third session (Oct 2) focuses on object classification and research applications.
