Performance: Iowa Odyssey, How We Got to Here
Who are we and how did we get to "here?" How does the idea of immigration connect to our community's past and present? Iowa Odyssey is a collaborative project exploring our local stories of immigration and the idea of what it means to create community.
Bad Bad Hats w/ The Host Country
Bad Bad Hats is an indie rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. The band consists of Kerry Alexander, Chris Hoge, and Connor Davison. Named for a trouble-making character from the Madeline children's books, Bad Bad Hats is defined by a balance of sweet and sour. Their music honors classic pop songwriting, with nods to nineties rock simplicity and pop-punk frivolity.

Science Fair
A science fair for students in grades 1-5, hosted by the ISU student chapter of the American Meteorological Society. Projects or posters can include any scientific topic, not just meteorology. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third places in two age categories.

Cyclone Cinema: Glass
Glass is a PG-13 drama/fantasy movie. The narratives of two standout originals--2000's Unbreakable and 2016's Split bring one explosive, all-new comic-book thriller: Glass. Mr.Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb's superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds critical secrets. The Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Broadway masterpiece, Rent, makes a stop on its 20th anniversary touring production. A reimagining of Puccini's La Boheme, Rent follows an unforgettable year in the lives of seven artists struggling to follow their dreams without selling out.

Meet up to a dozen local scientists who will share their research and knowledge with you through fun hands-on activities and conversation. This event features professionals who are Reiman Gardens' 2019 Science Communication Fellows. No registration required.

Walk-in Argentine Tango
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm, moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for better dancing. From 5-7pm, the floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie Williams, and for working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

Butterfly: The Story of a Life Cycle
Celebrate the magical life cycle of the Monarch butterfly as larger-than-life puppetry is used to illustrate the microscopic world of insects. This production offers a magnified look at metamorphosis through the eyes of Mari the Monarch as she grows from a tiny egg to a beautiful butterfly!

Great Plants for Iowa: Spring & Summer bulbs
Many of these wonderful plants burst into bloom early in the season, so we've moved our class so we can actually see them! Learn more about the dozens of colorful blooms that grow from bulbs, corms, rhizomes and tubers in the Iowa garden. Preregistration with prepayment is required by April 28.
Workshop: Revise, Rewrite and Rework
A 3-week creative writing course introducing an eight-point format for revising writing, whether poetry or prose. Revising the early drafts of authors' work is the time where everything is made more vivid, more coherent, and more powerful. The work comes alive. The course is structured for both beginners and those wishing to polish their writing skills. Class members will take home a workbook of handouts and reference materials.
