This is a dog-friendly race and competitors are encouraged to bring their canine companions. Entry fee includes chip timing, a race T-shirt, post-race refreshments and an entry for one of several door prizes.

The project helped students learn about the process of design thinking by giving them the opportunity to tackle an everyday problem and create an everyday reusable product while relating to tangible clients and stakeholders.

The California-based MKTO features the talents of actor/musicians Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller, who first met in 2010 while filming the Nickelodeon television series Gigantic. Their debut single, "Thank You," was released on YouTube in January 2013 and had over 500,000 views within two days of its release. Their follow-up single, "Classic," was released the following June.

Mechanical engineering student project teams will present the plans for a 1:5 working replica of the campanile and 27-bell carillon. Once completed, the portable model will be used at events and programs, and serve as an educational tool.
