Coming Out Week Craft
National Coming Out Day is an annual LGBTQIA+ awareness day observed on October 11, and we want to celebrate all week! Choose a word or two - like Pride, Love, or Equality - and use our letter stamps to hammer out your text onto a metal disk. We will attach it to a cord bracelet or keychain. Everyone is welcome at The Workspace.
Drop in Craft: Halloween Felt Plushies
Arm yourself with scissors and a glue gun and make a stuffed felt plushie. We have patterns for a bat, ghost, jack-o-lantern, Frankenstein and skull. These no-sew plushies are adorable and easy to make.
Paint Your Own Pottery: Adorable Animals
October 7-12: Pandas, bunnies, llamas, Frenchies, hedgehogs, buffalo, kittens, narwhals, owls, frogs, elephants, turtles and so many more!
Retirement reception: Bill Gutowski
Gutowski, professor in the department of the earth, atmosphere and climate, retired from Iowa State in July. Celebrate his service to the university and his profession. A short program begins at 4 p.m.

Cyclone Cinema: Borderlands
Cyclone Cinema is presented by the Student Union Board and showcases a variety of film genres, screening a different movie every weekend Thursday - Sunday during the semester. Sunday film screenings are in open caption format. All other screenings can be open caption as well, as long as the request is made to the staff prior to the movie starting.
Concert: ISU Wind Ensemble
The ISU Wind Quintet comprises the top music majors from the flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and horn studios, and highly talented students in other majors. The ISU Wind Quintet is coached by Amy Christensen.
ISU Theatre: Fairytales for the Anthropocene
Embark on a captivating journey that blends enchantment and provocation as we delve into the complex tapestry of the Anthropocene epoch--a crossroads marked by the interplay of survival, extinction, humanity, nature, and the imagination. "Fairytales for the Anthropocene" features puppetry, live actors, and new short plays by U.S. playwrights.
