Artist reception: Joe Patrick and the Architecture of Impermanence
Join us in celebrating Joe Patrick and the exhibition Parallels: The Architecture of Impermanence currently on view in the Brunnier Art Museum. In his paintings, Joe Patrick finds his inspiration in the Oaxacan marketplaces he has been visiting for nearly 40 years, and in his portrait drawings he depicts moments in time upon the faces of many friends in both Iowa and Mexico.

Memorial Service: Professor Emeritus Riad G. Mahayni
A public memorial service for Riad G. Mahayni, FAICP, professor emeritus and former chair of the ISU Department of Community and Regional Planning. Mahayni, 75, died Friday, June 23, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames following a courageous battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dr. Riad Mahayni Civic Planning Award scholarship fund at Iowa State.
