Poverty Awareness Week - various events
March 29-April 3 marks the second annual Poverty Awareness Week at Iowa State University. Organized by EWB-ISU, the week long event gives organizations on campus a chance to come together and raise awareness of poverty and inform students of how they can become involved.

Lecture: Catholicism on Eco-justice
Anne Clifford is the Msgr. James Supple Chair of Catholic Studies in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Iowa State. In recognition of the 40th anniversary of the first Earth Day, she will discuss Catholic eco-justice teachings, with a focus on their roots in creation theology and their call to responsibility for the environment.
Lecture: Where's the Math
Juanita Copley is the former chair of the Curriculum and Instruction Department at the University of Houston. She will discuss how young children learn mathematics, what an effective curriculum in early childhood mathematics should include, and how we assess children's knowledge of the subject.
