Event: Orchid Fest
Fifth annual Orchid Fest. Exotic orchids in a variety of species and colors will be on display and available for purchase both days. The Central Iowa Orchid Society will also staff a question and answer booth, providing both novices and experienced growers valuable insight on care and keeping of orchids.

Join Reiman Gardens for the fifth annual Orchid Fest on Saturday and Sunday, February 7 and 8. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Youth Program: Caterpillar Club
If you like Kids Story Time, you'll flip for Caterpillar Club! Please join us for winter storytelling twice per month, from October to March. Each gathering features a theme as we read aloud two or three books, and wrap up with related cooperative activities and crafts great for groups and individuals alike. Materials are intended for children ages two to seven years old, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Let's hang out together!

Sentinel Plant Network First Detector Training
Reiman Gardens' staff will take you through the steps to become a certified First Detector, in the ever-increasing effort to detect and diagnose "high-consequence" pests and pathogens, such as the emerald ash borer and the Asian long-horned beetle. Additional information to come.

Each month's topic features a mini-tour, interesting facts, and the chance to see many things not typically open to the public. Come each month to learn more about Reiman Gardens and its many plants and butterflies.

Class: Black Light Butterfly Roosting
Join Nathan Brockman, Christina Reiman Butterfly Wing Curator, for a special black light butterfly show. Learn the science behind the way many butterfly patterns fluoresce when exposed to black light, and view them in a new way as they clump together and begin roosting for the night.
