A limited number of individual appointments with an NEH program officer will be available.
Teaching & Learning Circle: Communication in the Classroom
Learning occurs when students understand class content and perceive they are understood by classmates and instructor. Understanding is achieved as a result of interpersonal communication that occurs in the classroom, between students and instructors. The purpose of this learning circle is to examine and practice interpersonal communication competencies that will contribute to understanding in the classroom.

Forum: Intellectual property assignments
ISU officials encourage faculty, professional and scientific staff, postdoctoral scholars and graduate assistants to assign intellectual property rights to the university. At this forum, university counsel Paul Tanaka, research foundation in-house counsel Donna Johns and associate vice president for research Wolfgang Kliemann will answer questions on IP assignments.

Lecture: Andrea's Voice, Silenced by Bulimia
Eating Disorder and Body Image Awareness Week Speaker Andrea Smeltzer died in her sleep at the age of 19 after a one-year struggle with bulimia. Andrea's parents, Tom and Doris Smeltzer, now devote their time to eating disorder prevention through Andrea's Voice Foundation.

"How to Succeed Ethically When Others Bend the Rules: The VW & GM Scandals." Frank Bucaro is senior ethics advisor and content provider for the Automotive Institute of Ethics. His presentation highlights companies like Volkswagen and General Motors as examples of the problems and consequences that can arise when ethical behavior is not defined, understood or demonstrated.
