Argentine Tango Practica
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4- 5pm moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for dancing better. From 5 - 7pm the dance floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie and working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.
Documentary & Discussion: The Real Dirt on Farmer John
The Real Dirt on Farmer John follows the life of John Peterson, owner and operator of AngelicOrganics, one of the largest Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farms in the United States. Peterson took over the family farm as a young man in the1960s and slowly turned it into an experiment of art and agriculture. Documentary & Discussion: Train to Nowhere: Inside an Immigrant Death Investigation
In October 2002, the badly decomposed bodies of 11 undocumented immigrants from Mexico and Central America were found sealed inside a freight car in rural Denison, Iowa. The documentary "Train to Nowhere" offers an in-depth look at the investigation and those involved. Filmmaker Colleen Krantz is a graduate of Iowa State and former Des Moines Register reporter. "Diwali" (or "Deepawali"), popularly known as the festival of lights, is one of the most important festivals of the year and is celebrated in families by performing traditional activities together in their homes. Come and celebrate Diwali with the Indian Students Association and enjoy a night of Indian performances and food (dinner served at 8 p.m.).

SUB Music: Parlours w/ Hemmingbirds
Des Moines, IA-based Parlours hasn't been around long, but the talented five-piece band has already created a ton of buzz in the Midwest region with their self-titled EP. Their song I Dream of Chicago closed the series finale for FOX show The Chicago Code and more recently, the group had two songs featured on ABC Family's The Lying Game as well as a song in the indie film Sassy Pants.
