Lecture: The Age of Globalism
"Caught in the Middle: America's Heartland in the Age of Globalism," Richard Longworth, author and journalist. Longworth is a two-time recipient of the Overseas Press Club Award for series on globalization and the UN and was twice a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. He is a senior fellow at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and distinguished visiting scholar at DePaul University.
Lecture: "Taking Control of Your Financial Future in Tough Times"
Jeanne Hogarth is a program manager for the Federal Reserve Board in Consumer Education and Research, specializing in consumer finance. She will discuss ways people can become more financially competent in today's financial markets, with a special focus on access and affordability of higher education and student loan debt loads.
