First Amendment Day: Freedom march
The freedom march will begin at Ames City Hall, 515 Clark Ave., and end at the steps of Beardshear Hall. There will be a recitation of the First Amendment and the TAO of journalism, then ISU and high school student media will sign the pledge.
Feast on the First Amendment
Free food, soap box debates, music, chalk the sidewalks and exhibits from student organizations. High school essay contest winners will receive their awards. Planting of the "Liberty Tree" by Elizabeth Hoffman, executive vice president and provost; Michael Bugeja, Greenlee director; and Gene Policinski, First Amendment Center executive director.
P&S Staff Appreciation Event
All P&S staff are invited to this come-and-go event. Enjoy Coldstone Creamery ice cream and register for door prizes. P&S Council members will be on hand to answer questions about the council. RSVPs requested.
