Registration for Spring 2012 for freshmen
First day of assigned Spring 2012 registration dates for students continuing as freshmen. Hours for AccessPlus registration are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday-Saturday.

Visible Competency: Shaping Capital through Public Space in Latin America
Rachel Berney, an assistant professor of landscape architecture, urban design and planning at the University of Southern California, will highlight the efforts of two South American cities to reinvent themselves through public space in this presentation cosponsored by the College of Design and Department of Community & Regional Planning. Free and open to the public.
Healing and the Imagination
An interactive presentation led by Dr. Gabriella Miottto, a family physician, humanitarian, activist and poet. Dr. Miotto focuses on community and integrative medicine and uses poetry, art and dance therapies with her patients and trauma victims. She has worked with refugees in both Kosovo and Guatemala and is currently on staff at the Children's Clinic in Long Beach, California.

The documentary Let's Talk About Sex explores how attitudes toward sex impact unplanned pregnancy and STDS in teens. It was produced in collaboration with Advocates for Youth, the leading nonprofit organization focused on issues relating to adolescent reproductive health. James Wagoner is the president and executive director of Advocates for Youth.
From Athlete to Adventure Writer
Lynne Cox, athlete and author of Swimming to Antarctica, Grayson, and South with the Sun, is known for her unique ability to perform open-water swims in frigid waters. Dr. Gabriella Miotto, is a practicing family physician and served as Lynne Cox's personal physician on several of her open-water swims. Part of the Women and Gender Studies 35th Anniversary Celebration.

This interactive presentation will highlight significant aspects of Barbara's development as an artist, teacher, and holistic growth mentor. ISU Professor Emeritus Corly Brooke will share her perspectives on human growth and transformation and how they intersect in Barbara's work.
