In this four week class, learn to paint the prairie in luscious watercolor as honored artist and teacher Jo Myers-Walker shares her techniques for painting flowers, birds, and the lovely Iowa landscape.
Symposium: Socio-spatial changes in rural-urban Latin America
This symposium brings together scholars, designers and students from several disciplines for discussion of contemporary Latin American urbanism. Participants will share case studies of design interventions, research projects and public policy initiatives that address a variety of historical factors and current issues such as housing in the condition of informality, environmental systems and the public realm.

The Division of Student Affairs has named three finalists for its associate vice president for student affairs position. An open forum is planned for each candidate during the first week of April. All are invited to attend.

J. Chris Leach, senior associate dean for faculty and research in the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado, Boulder, is among three finalists in the search for Iowa State's next dean of the College of Business. A reception will follow the forum in 1147 Gerdin.

Pragmatic Optimism: How Behavioral Economics is Helping to Solve Global Poverty
Yale economist Dean Karlan is coauthor of More Than Good Intentions: Improving the Ways the World's Poor Borrow, Save, Farm, Learn, and Stay Healthy. His work demonstrates how small changes in development initiatives can drastically improve the well being of the poor. Karlan is a development economist who uses insights from behavioral and experimental economics in his work.
