Exhibit reception: "Before and After: BPMI Alumni Exhibition"
The exhibit features 2- and 3-dimensional traditional and digital medical and scientific illustration and fine artwork--drawing, painting, illustration, animation, photography, prosthetic, sculpture, interactive, etc., by currently enrolled BPMI students and alumni of the program. The reception precedes a 7:30 p.m. keynote address. Part of the biological/pre-medical illustration program's 30th anniversary celebration.

Lecture: The Ferguson Moment
"The Ferguson Moment: Poverty, Politics and Planning in the Suburbs of St. Louis," Todd Swanstrom, University of Missouri, St. Louis. Reception precedes the lecture at 5 p.m., small group discussions on issues of race and class will be led by college multicultural liaisons following the lecture.

Marshmallow Golf for United Way
The College of Design will host its third annual marshmallow golf contest from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the east lawn in front of the Design Building. Donate $1 per try to take your best shot at driving a marshmallow! All proceeds will go toward the college's $5,000 fundraising goal for this year's United Way of Story County campaign.
Artist Talk and Reception: Back to Square One with C. Arthur Croyle
Artist talk at 6 p.m. followed by reception until 8 p.m. for exhibition of paintings and assemblages by C. Arthur Croyle, associate professor of integrated studio arts. The show will run through Oct. 24.

Lecture: Active Social Architecture, Kigali, Rwanda
Spanish architect Nerea Amoros Elorduy is a cofounder of Active Social Architecture (ASA), a design firm in Kigali, Rwanda. ASA works in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team across continents to improve livelihoods and strengthen and empower communities and their sense of identity, through innovative, community-based designs and a holistic approach to architecture. Elorduy will share her work in this public presentation.
