Nanovaccine Initiative Seminar
"Nanofabrications for Infectious and Degenerative Disorders," Dr. Howard Gendelman, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha. Dr. Gendelman will discuss the fabrication of nanomedicine for Parkinson's and viral diseases following his discovery of how functional alterations in brain immunity lead to neural cell damage. Scientists learn how to write scientifically, but how do you teach students to do this? In contrast to lab techniques, where there is often an apprenticeship aspect in which students learn by watching others and then practicing, there isn't much to watch while a scientist writes. This needs to be a cognitive apprenticeship instead of a physical one.
