Youth Program: Plant Pals
Join us and cultivate a real garden at Reiman Gardens. We will learn about and grow lots of vegetables, pumpkins, tomatoes and sunflowers, as well as beautiful flowers. Each session has hands-on activities to interact with all the wonderful plants that we enjoy and eat. Classes are great for kids of all ages to participate in with an adult. Classes are held every other Thursday from May 7 to September 10.
Retirement reception: Tim Watson
Tim Watson, supervisor of plant services in facilities planning and management, campus services, is retiring after 44 years of service at Iowa State. A short program will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Paint Your Own Pottery: Mug Night
"Painting" bisque is a fun and relaxing activity that can be done solo or with a group of friends. Choose from mugs of all sizes for your favorite beverage. Studio fee is $4 for ISU and $5 for public to attend plus the cost of the bisque you select.
Master Gardener Lecture: Hostas and Their Neighbors
Story County Master Gardener, Don Draper, will discuss hostas with companion plants. Hostas are great plants for many types of shade gardens. Their beauty and features can be enhanced when grown in plant communities containing specific trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals. The focus of the presentation will be on those plants that are great neighbors in a hosta plant community.
Plant and Flower Drawing Class
This is a 6 week course on Thursdays May 21, May 28, June 4, June 11, June 18, and June 25 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. This six-week beginner course will introduce how to use plants as the subject of art with easy approaches and successive lessons. Learn from artist Megan Henson as you draw from flowers and plants in the classroom, the Hughes Conservatory, and even get inspired by those early spring blooms in the outdoor gardens.
Woodshop Orientation
For the beginner who wants to learn the fundamentals of woodworking equipment. Proper usage of the machinery will be covered, as well as woodshop safety. This class is required in order to use the woodshop on your own.
Your Wedding Dance Workshop
Learn an easy, stress-free routine to get through the reception's "first dance" whether you are the bride, groom, wedding party, parents or just someone attending the big day. Get help in choosing a dance to fit the style and occasion and have a great time at the reception. Beginners are welcome and partners aren't required.
