Human Sciences Week
The first-ever week long celebration of the College of Human Sciences will take place Oct. 12-16. Today's events include root beer floats and a lecture by Leigh Patel.
Walk-In Craft: Origami Cranes
Folded paper cranes symbolize longevity, wisdom and marital bliss. Choose from beautifully printed origami papers and follow the folding instructions to create your own set of three cranes. Keep them as a talisman for yourself, or give them to someone as a small but special gift.
Lecture: Learning with Migrant Youth
Leigh Patel is a sociologist, writer and educator based at Boston College. She is the author of "Youth Held at the Border: Immigration, Education, and the Politics of Inclusion." Part of Human Sciences Week.
Acrylic Painting Class
Learn basic color theory as well as painting from both life and photographs. Techniques will include monochromatic painting, full color application, and glazing. For painters of all levels.
