Youth Matinee Series Performance: Macbeth by Aquila Theatre (Grades 9-12)

"Fair is foul and foul is fair" in Aquila Theatre's rendering of the chaotic world of Shakespeare's Macbeth, where nothing is as it seems and men combat their own madness and fates.

The play centers on the victorious Scottish general Macbeth, who chances upon three mysterious witches who offer him an intriguing prophecy: the promise that he will one day be King of Scotland. Upon hearing the news, Lady Macbeth urges her husband into murderous actions followed by a wild descent into war and insanity.

The Aquila Theatre Company, one of the most innovative and daring theater companies in the country, presents Macbeth as a 'Guided Tour.' Focusing on key scenes to demystify the characters and examine elements of this complex and fascinating play, an actor introduces the main characters and provides narrative links for the stage action. Aquila's Guided Tour, acted out in full costume with set and props, includes a Q&A session with the cast.
