Youth Matinee Series Performance: Henry and Mudge (Grades 1-7) *Based on books by Cynthia Rylant

Learn about friendship and sharing - and caring for dogs - as Henry tries to find his place in a new home with new responsibilities.

Henry discovers that having a pet is a big responsibility - they need to be fed, they need to go for walks, and they need lots of love and playtime! Of course, when dogs are as big as Mudge is, they also need good training. Henry teaches his new friend to sit, heel and shake his hand, but try as he might, rolling over is one trick Henry just can't get Mudge to master.

Along comes Henry's cousin Annie and Mudge rolls right over at her command. Worried that Mudge loves Annie best, Henry runs away into the cold dark woods to find adventures on his own. Mudge really does love Henry and follows Henry's scent into the forest. Will the two friends find each other? Can Henry and Annie both love Mudge?
