Fifteen teams will create garments that will be revealed at a runway walk and judging on Sunday, September 30 at 8pm in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union. April Johnston, from Project Runway Season 8 and Project Runway All Stars, will be the guest host and judge.

Teams will be given about 8 hours to construct their garments based on a theme that will be revealed the night before the competition. One of the team members will model the clothing at the show and garments will be judged on creativity, craftsmanship and crowd appeal. Before revealing the winning team, Johnston will speak about her experience on Project Runway and her career as a designer.

As the designer of Mangled Courtesan, "Miss April's" designs are created using a strong contrast of hard and soft within textures and silhouettes. Looking to non-traditional, dark inspiration while combining the old with the modern brings an odd ambiance to her work. A native of North Carolina, Johnston currently resides in Savannah, Georgia after graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. She went on to show at SCAD's annual fashion show as one of 22 students. Quickly after graduation she left for New York City to take on Project Runway and placed top 5 in her season of 17 contestants. Recently April competed on Project Runway All Stars as one of thirteen contestants from past seasons. April also has teamed up with Springs Creative and launched a fabric line sold exclusively at Jo Ann Fabrics nationwide.

Trend Magazine will do a photo shoot and article on the winning team's design for publication later this year.
