Retirement reception: Carolyn Heising
Professor of industrial and manufacturing systems engineering Carolyn Heising is retiring.
Meeting: Faculty Senate
The Faculty Senate represents the general faculty of Iowa State University and participates in shared governance of the University with the administration. Senate meetings are open to the public.
Macro 1 Photography Class
This is a 4 week course on Tuesdays beginning May 5, May 12, May 19, and May 26 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. This four-part workshop will cover the basics of macro photography including equipment and how to use it, depth of field, aperture, light, composition, finding your subject and tips and tricks. Each class is broken into 3 parts: classroom discussion, hands-on practice taking pictures by the students and review of the images taken.
Workshop: Perfume Blending
With natural perfumer Amanda Feeley, Esscentual Alchemy. Those who complete this 6-week workshop will come away with their own developed fragrance, a kit of 10 essences and a Certificate of Perfume Blending.

Workshop: Navigating Waves of Change
Participants will be given tips on how to handle change, as well as adjust their attitudes toward the inevitable twists and turns of daily life. Art Walk: A Celebration of the Artist Sarah Grant
Please join us in welcoming artist Sarah Grant to campus to celebrate her place in the legacy of the Art on Campus Collection. Starting with Christian Petersen's Conversations, we'll journey to the Hixson-Lied Student Success Center to enjoy and discuss how Sarah and her company Sticks, Inc. have continued Petersen's legacy of providing beauty and inspiration for current and future Iowa Staters to enjoy.
Recognition ceremony: 2015 Exemplary Faculty Mentors
This spring marks the second time the provost's office will recognize a group of faculty mentors. A reception follows (4:30-5:30 p.m.).
Photographic Exposure Class
This is a 4 week course on Wednesdays beginning May 6, May 13, May 20, and May 27 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Go in-depth with professional photographer and instructor Mark Stoltenberg, to understand just what exposure is and how adjusting it will alter your photographs, for a variety of desired effects. Learn to master manual control of the lightness and the darkness of an image, even when your camera suggests something different.
