Join us and cultivate a real garden at Reiman Gardens. We will learn about and grow lots of vegetables, pumpkins, tomatoes and sunflowers, as well as beautiful flowers. Their beauty and features can be enhanced when grown in plant communities containing specific trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals. The focus of the presentation will be on those plants that are great neighbors in a hosta plant community.

This is a 3 week course on Saturdays beginning May 16, May 23, & June 6 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. With a method similar to batik, you will draw patterns on real eggs with wax, protecting the covered areas from the dye that is applied. By repeating this process with different colors of dye, you will be able to build multi-colored patterns. Finally, the wax is removed to reveal a rainbow of colors that were covered up at each stage.

Each session features a theme with two or three books read aloud followed by a related craft or activity. The books, crafts and activities are intended for children ages two to seven years old.
