Faces of Iowa State LIVE Portrait Painting - JaneAnn Stout
University Museums, Iowa State University, is pleased to announce the live painting of 16 portraits by celebrated Iowa artist Rose Frantzen. The portrait painting sessions will take place during a March 29 through April 6, 2017 residency in the lower gallery of the Christian Petersen Art Museum, 0003 Morrill Hall, on central campus. All portrait sessions will be open to the public to watch Frantzen's artistic process evolve.

Artist lecture: Joe Patrick and the Architecture of Impermanence
Joe Patrick's paintings and drawings, while very different in their execution, both examine a transient sense of impermanence. Join the artist in a gallery walk where he will discuss the impermanence and the parallels found in his paintings and drawings on exhibition in the Brunnier Art Museum.
Concert: ISU Percussion Ensemble and Carillon
Jonathan Sharp will direct the ISU Percussion ensemble as it performs in real time, via an online link, with Tin-Shi Tam on the carillon.

For nearly 40 years, Joe Patrick taught drawing and painting in The University of Iowa's School of Art and Art History until his retirement in 2004, twenty-five years as head of the drawing area of the School. The Fashion Show
The Fashion Show 2017 is in its 35th year, and is one of the largest student-run fashion shows in the nation. The show will feature more than 150 student-designed garments both on the runway and in mounted exhibitions. This year's theme is "Altered Aspects" and the guest designer is Abasi Rosborough.

Walk-in Argentine Tango
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm, moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for dancing better. From 5-7pm, the dance floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie and working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

In honor of National Poetry Month, join University Museums as we explore the connection between inspiration and creativity, celebrating the impact it has on the journey and development of Iowa State students.
Artful Yoga
This practice will enrich your yoga experience by going beyond the physical and inviting an artistic perspective to your awareness. In conjunction with the current exhibition, our practice this semester will focus on the color red. Please arrive early for a discussion on the month's topic beginning at 5:15. The practice will begin at 5:30. No yoga experience is necessary, but please bring your own mat.
