Retirement reception: Todd Zdorkowski
Todd Zdorkowski, program manager and tech transfer ombuds for the U.S. Department of Energy's Ames Laboratory, is retiring.
Building rededication: Marston Hall
Following a two-year renovation, Marston Hall will be officially rededicated. Program speakers include President Steven Leath and Engineering dean Sarah Rajala. The public is welcome.
Campus forum
Iowa State's multicultural liaison police officers will host a forum for students, faculty and staff. In light of the increase in violent events around the country, participants are invited to express their frustration, concerns or observations in an open and safe environment.

Reception: "Common Threads III"
A reception will open a collaborative exhibition by local fiber artist Catherine Reinhart and Minnesota printmaker and fiber artist Allison Wegren Metzger. The exhibition runs Oct. 1-31 at ISU's Design on Main Gallery, 203 Main St., Ames.

Retirement reception: Keith Bystrom
Keith Bystrom, associate counsel in the office of university counsel, will retire from Iowa State on Oct. 7. A program will begin at 3:15 p.m.
Memorial service: Carlota Gutierrez
Carlota Gutierrez, former 28-year employee in the College of Design reading room, died Sept. 24 at home after battling illness for several months. A program will begin at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
