Comedian: Nick Offerman aka Ron Swanson
Nick Offerman is best known for his role as Ron Swanson on NBC's hit show Parks and Recreation. His acting credits include The Men Who Stare at Goats, Sin City, and Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous. Offerman is also an accomplished wood craftsman, owning a side business where he creates everything from furniture and canoes to personalized mustache combs.

"Little Dresses for Africa" Work Day
Simple dresses made out of pillowcases provide relief and hope for the children of Africa. We will provide the supplies, but can use the hands of volunteers to assist with making the dresses.

Opening Reception: Adaptive Interface - Building Envelope
Reception for an exhibition of work by international teams of architecture and landscape architecture students who participated in the ARS Berlin Summer Academy 2011. The teams worked with energy modeling and dynamic daylight simulation software as a design tool and integrated daylighting, illumination and shading strategies into their designs for adaptable, mixed-use buildings for the European Energy Forum site in Berlin, Germany.
Acrylic Painting Sara Merritt
Learn basic color theory as well as painting from both life and photograph. Techniques will include monochromatic painting, full color application, and glazing. This course is for painters of all levels and students will share supplies.

Knittinging with Sarah Cady
Learn the basics of knitting: cast-on, knit, purl, bind-off, rib stitch, increase and decrease techniques, pattern reading, gauge swatching, and picking up dropped stitches. Bring a pair of #7 or #8 single-point needles. Yarn will be provided.
Screenprinting with Dara Poorman
Learn an inexpensive way to create custom t-shirts. Using your own design, learn to make a screen with the photographic emulsion method. Bring in your shirts and print away! This class is required in order to use the Workspace screenprinting equipment on your own.
