Tearing Hatred From the Sky
Martin Luther King, Jr. 2023 Keynote: Bree Newsome illustrates how ordinary people can make an extraordinary difference. Following the brutal murder of nine black parishioners in 2015 at Mother Emmanuel Church in Charleston, S.C., Bree climbed the flagpole at the South Carolina statehouse and pulled down the Confederate Battle flag.
