Fred Kaplan is a journalist who writes a national security column for Slate magazine, and has penned five books about American politics. His most recent book, Dark Territory: The Secret History of Cyber War, chronicles the long history of hacking between the United States and Russia.

COIN
Formed in Nashville, but carving a space in the field of bright, synth-spiked indie pop more often associated with L.A. and N.Y.C., COIN was started by students at Belmont University in 2012. They sold out a show for the first time by the summer of 2013, and the quartet of Chase Lawrence (vocals/synths), Joe Memmel (guitar/vocals), Zachary Dyke (bass), and Ryan Winnen (drums) signed with Columbia that fall.

SCAVMA Scamper
The 34th annual SCAVMA (Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Association) Scamper is a 5K/10K run or walk. This is a dog-friendly race and competitors are encouraged to bring their canine companions. Entry fee includes chip timing, a race T-shirt, post-race refreshments and an entry for one of several door prizes. Proceeds support student involvement and raise community awareness about the OneHealth mission.
Science Fair for elementary students
Hosted by the ISU student chapter of the American Meteorological Society for students in grades 1-5. Projects or posters do not have to be weather-related; they can be on any topic.

Walk-in Argentine Tango
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm, moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for dancing better. From 5-7pm, the dance floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie and working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.
