Natural Elements in Fine Silver Class
"Paint" metal clay on real leaves, seed pods, or other bit of nature. After firing in the kiln, only beautiful fine silver will be left behind, a lasting representation of a natural element. In the second session, a pendant or earrings will be created from these fine silver pieces.
Mandala Drawing Class
Mandalas are symbolic in Hinduism and Buddhism, and are created with geometric shapes incorporating ancient spiritual symbols. The Memorial Union will be hosting Tibetan Monks September 22-25, and they will create a large scale sand mandala on the 2nd floor. Zendoodle instructor Sara Merritt will lead this mandala drawing session on Tuesday evening.
The Symbolism of the Sand Mandala
Monks from the the Drepung Loseling Monastery will create a mandala sand painting in the lobby of the Memorial Union Monday, September 22 through Thursday, September 25. The process consists of opening ceremony with chants, music and mantra recitation and ends with the dismantling of the mandala and dispersal of the sand. The career fair enables students to explore career opportunities, obtain employer information, and locate internships, co-ops and full-time positions. Employers have the opportunity to connect with promising candidates for job and internship openings as well as network with university personnel and other employers.
People to People Internship and Career Fair
The career fair offers employers and students a professional environment in which to connect and discuss internships and full-time employment opportunities in social services; education; health/wellness; government; and hospitality. There also will be an opportunity for students to meet with representatives from professional schools and graduate programs.

Art Critique with Aaron Tinder
Share your artwork in a comfortable atmosphere. Our guest will be Aaron Tinder, whose mixed media paintings and photography are on display in the Pioneer Room. Bring up to 3 pieces of work in any media and get feedback and ideas from Tinder as well as other participants.

Concert: Harold Lopez-Nussa
As a scion of an illustrious musical family, 31-year-old Cuban pianist Harold Lopez-Nussa is one of the brightest lights on Havana's thriving jazz scene. He gained international attention when he won top honors at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Piano Competition in 2005 and his albums and work since reveal a composer who has fully integrated his classical training and love of the jazz continuum with his Cuban roots.
Project Runway
Themed garments created by student teams on Sept. 21 will be modeled and judged at this 10th annual event. Doors open at 8:30 p.m.

Learn how your own movement patterns may be limiting the expressive use of your entire body.
Delsarte: Dynamic Poses for the Camera Workshop
Explore Delsarte's ninefold accords of the face and positions of the legs. See how harmonic opposition in the body creates dynamic poses for the camera. Visual artists will discover that these tools can help them draw out the desired response from their subjects, while dancers, actors and models gain valuable insight to showcase their best for the camera. Please bring a hand mirror to class.

Delsarte: The Laws of Expressive Motion Workshop
Delsarte studied principles of motion and dynamic physical expression as thoroughly as he had studied meaning in the body itself. Learn the principles of physics behind Delsate's Nine Laws of Gesture including altitude, force, motion, sequence, direction, form, reaction, velocity, and extension. These principles can empower your own communication, as well as enrich your work in music, dance, theater and any other depiction of movement art.
Delsarte: Creating a Character for Stage Workshop
This class will begin with a thorough Delsarte warm-up intended to awaken the body and its relationship to internal emotion, thought and impulse. As time allows, students may share a piece they are currently working on (dance, song, drawing, poem, scene, etc.) and Joe will explore the concept of developing a character for stage or presentation.
Argentine Tango Practica (Class)
