College of Design Career Days Expo
Annual College of Design Career Expo offers students, professionals, design firms and alumni a unique opportunity to focus on careers in design and the arts. Cross-disciplinary panel discussions as well as discipline-specific sessions will be held in the College of Design inthe morning.

ISU Theatre production of "To Kill a Mockingbird"
Atticus Finch, a lawyer who is a widower, tries to raise his two young children to have a code of honorable behavior within the social fabric of a small town in Alabama in the mid-1930's. When a young black man is unfairly accused of accosting a white woman and Atticus serves as his lawyer, serious issues of racial inequality violently surface within the community. Winner of a Pulitzer Prize.

Beyond Basics: Charcoal Drawing with Sara Merritt
Learn basic techniques for working with vine and compressed charcoals, pencils, and Conté, as well as how to combine charcoal with graphite and other media. Emphasis will also be given on preparing, layering, and protecting charcoal drawings.

SUB Music: Katie Herzig
In 2006, after several years of fronting the critically acclaimed Colorado-based band, Newcomers Home, Katie Herzig moved to Nashville to strike it solo. Before leaving Colorado, she single-handedly recorded and produced Weightless, a tour-de-force of innovative sonics and songwriting. Since then, Katie's song "Heaven's My Home" received a 2007 Grammy nomination and she has steadily become a fixture in Nashville's up-and-coming indie music scene

Fiber Reactive Dyeing Techniques with Annihka Murray
Learn to use fiber reactive dyes to create intriguing colors on natural materials like cotton, silk and rayon. Students will experiment with process and fiber types to see a full range of outcomes before creating the final project.
Stringing and Beginning Wire Work with Terrie Hoefer
Learn the basics of stringing (this is not the same as bead weaving or stitching) and wire work. Create your own head pins, jump rings and ear wires and learn how to make bead links and dangles.

Intermediate Pottery with Greg Lamont
This class is designed for students who have completed a beginning level course and have basic throwing skills but want to enhance their skill level. More attention will be given to expanding throwing skills and exploring new techniques such as lidded containers, joined forms and closed forms.
Mat Cutting with Amy Dreyer
Learn to size mats, cut straight and beveled edges, and hinge mount artwork on the mat cutter at the Workspace. Bring a 5 x 7 or smaller art piece with you to class. This class is required in order to use the mat cutter on your own.
