Iowa Songwriters Showcase
Iowa songwriters J. Jeffrey Messerole and Aaron Earl Short will perform two shows. Messerole is an Americana musician who performs original folk, blues, and alternative country music. Short is a bluesy songwriter and storyteller with a troubadour style. The Goldfinch Room provides great acoustics in an intimate setting for approximately 80 people.

Performance: ISU Symphony Orchestra
Jacob Harrison leads the 80-member ISU Symphony Orchestra in a narrated program showcasing the various orchestral instruments and identifying musical motifs in Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. ISU carillonneur Tin-Shi Tam will also demonstrate and discuss ISU's model carillon as part of this special performance.

Performance: United States Air Force Band and Singing Sergeants
The Air Force Band consists of six performing groups: Air Force Strings, Airmen of Note, Ceremonial Brass, Concert Band, Max Impact and Singing Sergeants. This premier musical unit continues to honor those who serve, inspire patriotism and military service in fellow citizens and impact the global community positively.

The Sound of Music
The Tony, Grammy, and Academy Award winner for Best Score, The Sound of Music, will play Stephens Auditorium on March 28. The spirited, romantic and beloved musical story of Maria and the von Trapp Family will once again thrill audiences with classics like "My Favorite Things," "Do-Re-Mi," and "Climb Ev'ry Mountain." A pre-show dinner is available for this performance.

Performance: San Francisco Symphony
Widely considered to be among the most artistically adventurous and innovative arts institutions in the U.S., The San Francisco Symphony will play Stephens Auditorium on March 29. The SF Symphony was established by a group of San Francisco citizens, music-lovers, and musicians in the wake of the 1906 earthquake, and almost immediately, it revitalized the city's cultural life.
