Container Gardening Workshop
Get expert hands-on instruction in outdoor container gardening. Horticulture Manager, Sarah Rummery, will demonstrate planting and placement in an outdoor container, and you will have the opportunity to practice on several displays in the Gardens. Finally you will receive your own 15" x 12" fiber garden container with a variety of summer florae to plant in the workshop.
Macro 1 Photography Class
This is a 4 week course on Tuesdays beginning May 5, May 12, May 19, and May 26 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. This four-part workshop will cover the basics of macro photography including equipment and how to use it, depth of field, aperture, light, composition, finding your subject and tips and tricks.
Workshop: Floral Design Series
Arrangement Theme: "Remembrance Flowers" - Learn how to create flower arrangements as a memorial to the people close to us. Learn the tips and skills used by professionals and create your own one-of-a-kind floral designs.

Behind the Scenes
Topic: "inTREEguing TREEhouses Exhibit" This program is perfect for volunteers! Join staff each month for an interactive, behind the scenes look at Reiman Gardens. Each month's topic features a mini-tour, interesting facts, and the chance to see many things not typically open to the public. Come each month to learn more about Reiman Gardens and its many plants and butterflies.

Photographic Exposure Class
This is a 4 week course on Wednesdays beginning May 6, May 13, May 20, and May 27 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Go in-depth with professional photographer and instructor Mark Stoltenberg, to understand just what exposure is and how adjusting it will alter your photographs, for a variety of desired effects. Learn to master manual control of the lightness and the darkness of an image, even when your camera suggests something different.
Walk-In Craft: Summer Earrings
Make up to 5 pairs of earrings with sterling silver or gold ear wires to complement your summer wardrobe. Learn how to put jewelry findings together and basic plier techniques. A huge selection of beads will be available, or feel free to bring some special beads from your own stash. Walk in anytime but give yourself an hour to finish.

Youth Program: Plant Pals
Join us and cultivate a real garden at Reiman Gardens. We will learn about and grow lots of vegetables, pumpkins, tomatoes and sunflowers, as well as beautiful flowers. Each session has hands-on activities to interact with all the wonderful plants that we enjoy and eat. Classes are great for kids of all ages to participate in with an adult. Classes are held every other Thursday from May 7 to September 10.
Paint Your Own Pottery: Spring Gardens
"Painting" bisque is a fun and relaxing activity that can be done solo or with a group of friends. Choose from flower pots, bunnies, gnomes, birdhouses and more to brighten your day. Studio fee is $4 for ISU and $5 for public to attend plus the cost of the bisque you select.
Plant and Flower Drawing Class
This is a 6 week course on Thursdays May 21, May 28, June 4, June 11, June 18, and June 25 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. This six-week beginner course will introduce how to use plants as the subject of art with easy approaches and successive lessons. Learn from artist Megan Henson as you draw from flowers and plants in the classroom, the Hughes Conservatory, and even get inspired by those early spring blooms in the outdoor gardens.

Kids' Story Time
Each session features a theme with two or three books read aloud followed by a related craft or activity. The books, crafts and activities are intended for children ages two to seven years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult. This class is held every other Tuesday from May 12 through August 18.

Nature Journaling Class
This is a 4 week course on Tuesdays beginning May 26, June 2, June 9, and June 16 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Whether you are a budding naturalist, artist, or writer, Reiman Gardens is the ideal setting to observe and record pollinating insects, tropical butterflies, and native flora and fauna.
Silver Rings Class
Saw, file, and solder sterling silver sheet to make a personalized ring just for you. Start with a ring in copper and make a second one in sterling silver. Embellish your ring with stamps and texture and learn to polish to a high shine.
Watercolor Class
Watercolor is a powerful and technical medium in which one can achieve beautiful results with a relatively quick sketch, or brilliant finished work with the investment of more time and craft. Watercolor is easy to use and this class will teach a variety of techniques from realistic to abstract in fun exercises. Experiment with both traditional and liquid watercolors. Suitable for the beginning painter or those with some experience.
