Walk-in Argentine Tango
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm, moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for better dancing. From 5-7pm, the floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie Williams, and for working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

Independence Day Fireworks
Reiman Gardens is open all day on July 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to the conclusion of the fireworks display which is across the street from the Gardens. The Young Professionals of Ames, the City of Ames and Iowa State University is excited to present the fireworks.

Haiga: Poetry and Painting
4-week program beginning Thursday, July 5, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Exploring the art of haiga, a style of Japanese painting that often accompanies a haiku poem, this crash combo course will offer two sessions of haiku, and two sessions of brush painting.

Art Walk: A Whirlwind of Art
Thunderstorms rolling across the prairie and temperatures in the 90s, it must be summertime in Iowa. Join University Museums as we explore the art that captures this tempestuous season. Most of the tour will be conducted inside. Meet at the west entrance (Farm House Lane) of Agronomy Hall.
Fused Glass for Wine Lovers
A quick and fun craft! Make a pair of wine charms or a bottle stopper - both useful tools, but they also make you look just a little more fancy. Choose 1" colored glass rounds that will fit perfectly in the charm and stopper blanks. Use small decorative "confetti" glass to add another splash of color. We will kiln-fire them and they will be ready to pick up in about a week.
Embroidery Class: Cactus and Succulent Workshop
No green thumb? Rifle through our shades of green embroidery floss and stitch plants that will live forever. Designs include images of sweet little succulents to prickly cacti.
