Conference: Bioplastics
"Bioplastic Container Cropping Systems: Green Technology for the Green Industry." To inform, plan, and identify stakeholders interested in the development and integration of emerging bioplastics technology for use in the specialty crops agricultural industry. Bioplastics are biorenewable, biodegradable, non-petroleum polymers that exhibit many of the same properties as petroleum-based plastics with minimal long-term impacts on the environment.

Symposium: Aphid research
Office of Biotechnology 25th Anniversary event: Aphid Research Symposium. Fiona Goggin, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, will present the keynote address on "Dissecting the molecular and physiological bases for plant defenses against aphids."
