ClubFest
ClubFestII is an opportunity for students to browse through over 800 clubs and organizations to find out how to get involved on campus. Although there are over 800 clubs and orgs on campus, a large sample will have booths with informational hand-outs and giveaways to highlight their club and recruit new members.
Belly Dance
Escape the ordinary and experience the extraordinary with Shiara's belly dance class! Build a strong vocabulary of basic movements that can be used for ANY style of belly dance as well as learn short dance combinations that will help to solidify these concepts. The son of Rick Nielsen, founding member and guitarist for Cheap Trick, Miles Nielsen has managed to make a name for himself as a true, Midwest Americana rocker. With a self-proclaimed "Beatlesque-Cosmic-Americana" style, don't expect to hear any 80s power pop at this show. Instead, Miles and his band use a distinct blend of crunchy guitars, southern rock keys, and three part vocal harmonies to create charming, old-fashioned, story-telling songs
Intermediate Belly Dance

Oil Painting
Through this class, students will become comfortable using oil paint, and gain confidence in color mixing, composition, and paint application. It is meant for both beginners who have never painted before and more experienced painters who would like to try a new perspective and get a chance to paint with others. Students will share supplies.

Beginning ballroom dance class
Beginning social ballroom dance lessons, hosted by the ISU Ballroom Dance Club. Class meets once weekly for 11 weeks. No partner required.

A six-piece Reggae band from San Diego, Tribal Seeds is headed by brothers Steven and Tony-Ray Jacobo and is without a doubt one of the best reggae bands around. Soap Making 101
Make quality, handmade soap from scratch. Learn the step by-by-step process - from the selection of oils and fragrances and calculating Lye amounts to picking out equipment. Lye safety will be emphasized (there are no pre-made synthetic bases in this class!)
Argentine Tango Practica
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4- 5pm moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for dancing better. From 5 - 7pm the dance floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie and working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

Camera Basics
Your camera works fine as a "point and shoot" but do you want to take even better pictures? Learn how in this class as you look at photo basics with the digital camera in mind. Understand how aperture, shutter speed, and ISO function in order to control depth of field and capture motion. Bring your camera (and questions!) to class.
Woodshop Orientation
For the beginner who wants to learn the fundamentals of woodworking equipment. Proper usage of the machinery will be covered, as well as woodshop safety. This class is required in order to use the woodshop on your own.
Screenprinting
Learn an inexpensive way to create custom t-shirts. Using your own design, learn to make a screen with the photographic emulsion method. Bring in your shirts and print away! This class is required in order to use the Workspace screenprinting equipment on your own.

"Create Peace" for 11 Days of Global Unity
For the fifth year, Ames will participate in the 11 Days of Global Unity, a program launched in 2004 as a promotion of peace, justice and environmental sustainability. It seeks to inspire, inform and involve humanity in helping to create a world that works for all.
Engineering Study and Work Abroad Fair
"Tour The World." Information booths for more than 30 international programs will be represented by faculty coordinators and students to promote international opportunities for engineering students.
Glass Beads
Learn the process of sculpting glass rods by heating and melting the glass in the flame of a gas-powered torch. After practice, your lampworking skills will allow you to create pieces with detail and complexity that you can use in jewelry or other decorative ways.
Ballroom dance class
Intermediate American ballroom classes meet once weekly for 11 weeks. Previous ballroom dance experience is required, but no partner is needed.
