Recycle silverware (even forks and knives!) into rings, earrings, bracelets & more. Materials are provided, but if you have special silverware you would like to use you may bring it to class.

"Little Dresses for Africa" Work Weekend
Simple dresses made out of pillowcases provide relief and hope for the children of Africa. We will provide the supplies, but can use the hands of volunteers to assist with making the dresses. From cutting fabric and ironing to sewing, there is a place for anyone who has an hour or two to spare.

Documentary and Discussion: Sun Come Up
"Sun Come Up" is an Academy Award-nominated film that shows the human face of climate change. It follows the relocation of the Carteret Islanders, a community living on a remote island chain in the South Pacific Ocean that is threatened by rising sea levels. Jerry Franklin is one of the country's leading authorities on sustainable forest management. He is widely known for his participation on President Clinton's Forest Ecosystem Management Assessment Team (FEMAT), established during the spotted owl controversy in the American Northwest. ISU's Project Runway
Fifteen teams will create garments that will be revealed at a runway walk and judging on Sunday, September 30 at 8pm in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union. April Johnston, from Project Runway Season 8 and Project Runway All Stars, will be the guest host and judge.
