Webinar, Navigating controversial topics in the classroom
Many instructors consciously avoid controversial issues in the classroom because of the difficulty involved in managing heated discussions. However, controversy can be a useful, powerful, and memorable tool to promote learning. This conversation will provide instructors with resources to facilitate classroom discussions around controversial issues, including the O.T.F.D. (Open The Front Door) and A.C.T.I.O.N. communication frameworks.

Lecture: What Race Is, What It Is Not, and Why It Matters

Nor is there a "natural" explanation for why race relations are often difficult, but there are lots of interesting social, political, psychological, and historical ones. Agustin Fuentes is a Professor of Anthropology at Princeton University researching human evolution, multispecies anthropology, and structures of race and racism.
