Argentine Tango Lessons
Valerie Williams This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm, moves for beginners are introduced with different partners for practice. From 5-7pm, the floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie, and for working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

Seminar: Quantifying the effects of nitrogen form, fertilizer type, and fertilizer concentration on North American herbaceous perennials.
Join this Horticulture Graduate Seminar to hear Boston Swan, graduate student in the Department of Horticulture at Iowa State University, discuss research into optimized fertilizer concentration and nitrogen forms for six tall grass prairie species and six woodland spring ephemerals.

Open Spaces
Open Spaces was developed as a way to create face to face interaction here on campus. It provides community members a chance to learn a new skill or share a talent of their own. Any person with a specific skill (dance, music, sports) is invited to teach these skills to the others for free. The idea is to promote cultural understanding and to break the borders between people. All are welcome.

Submission Deadline for Student Exhibit
Student artists, apparel designers, and writers are invited to submit up to three entries for consideration in a multimedia exhibition that will be presented in the Memorial Union Art Gallery January 27 - March 10, 2022. The juror will be Reuben Cheatem, a painter who is native to Des Moines and travels between here, Dallas, and New Orleans.

Flagship Friday Innovators Forum: You're More Than You Think You Are
"You're More Than You Think You Are," Hongwei Zhang, Iowa State professor of electrical and computer engineering. His research investigates modeling, algorithmic, and systems issues in wireless sensing and control networks (e.g., those in 5G and beyond) as well as their applications in connected and automated vehicles, AR/VR, smart agriculture, and cyber-physical-human systems in general.

Hosted by the University Museums' interns, in conjunction with Winterfest, celebrate the holiday season at the Farm House Museum. Take part in Victorian yuletide-themed activities and crafts while you enjoy holiday treats. The carriage from the Memorial Union will stop at the Farm House Museum.
