Bulent Aliriza is Senior Associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where he established the Turkey Project which examines Turkey's foreign and domestic policy issues. He is also Co-Director of the CSIS Caspian Sea Energy Project looking at the transportation of oil and gas from the Caspian region to world markets. He is an expert on Turkish politics and foreign policy, international relations between Turkey and the wider Turkish world, and the politics and transportation of oil from the ex-Soviet Turkish countries. Aliriza has lectured widely in the United States and Turkey and is a frequent commentator on Turkey and Caspian energy in print as well as on TV and radio. His articles and commentaries have appeared in the Washington Post, New York Times, International Herald Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Christian Science Monitor, and other major U.S. and Turkish publications. He has also made regular appearances on CNN, C-SPAN, and BBC, as well as numerous other U.S., European, and Turkish media outlets. He also has appeared before the U.S. Congress to discuss Turkey and U.S.-Turkish relations.
