Iowa State Dance students and faculty members will present "Fall Melange," featuring nine pieces combining ballet, tap, modern, jazz dance with class East Indian Classical Bharatanatyam. Suparna Banerjee, Alvin Edgar Guest Resident Artist/Scholar and Janice Baker choreographed and created the show.

The Fall Melange is a celebration of autumnal colors blended with a tinge of melancholy. Pieces include Indian Bharatanatyam with jazz, tap and ballet. The movement canvas is as varied and diversified as the season.

The choreography "Fall colors" is inspired from the traditional Indian dance gestures and stylized rendering of ballet depicting the glory of falling leaves that emanate radiance before their decadence.

'Fall of Icarus' is a juxtaposition of Bharatanatyam and Modern dance whereas the 'Lotus-dreamer' takes you to the imaginary land of blossoms.

'Osmosis' is a transition and transcendence, a journey across the line of divide.Music in the show ranges from Michael Nyman, Ananda Shankar, Traditional Carnatic music, Fusion, Indian folk and hip-hop.

Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated at the door.
