Piano faculty from Iowa State University and the University of Iowa will present a program of music by Chopin and Schumann. The recital will also take place in Iowa City on April 2.
The program will include performances by Ksenia Nosikova of the University of Iowa and Iowa State University pianist William David, as well as four of their students, all of whom are undergraduate piano majors. ISU students Michael Bagby and Emma Smith will each perform a Chopin scherzo. From UI Casey Rafn will play the Chopin Polonaise-Fantasie and Ryan McNamara will play the first movement of the Chopin Sonata in B Minor.
Following intermission, Dr. David will play Papillons by Schumann, and Nosikova will play his rarely heard Sonata in F Minor.
