Monday
The week kicks off with the World of Poverty event in the free speech zone outside Parks Library. Starting at 11 A.M., organizations will have displays highlighting their efforts to combat poverty. Also on Monday, Jonathan Wickert, dean of Iowa State's College of Engineering, will speak on how today's students can become leaders for a cleaner, healthier, safer, and more sustainable world. He will speak in the Campanile Room of the Memorial Union at 8pm.
Tuesday
EWB-ISU has its general meeeting from 8-9:30pm. Elections for next semester will take place, so be sure to come cast a vote. Both engineers and non-engineers have numerous opportunities to get involved.
Wednesday
The band "SHADES" will perform at Headliners, with proceeds going towards EWB-ISU projects in Mali and Belize. The band will play two sets, one from 7-9:30 (18+) and the second from 10-midnight (21+). Cover is $5.
Thursday
Panelists from a variety of backgrounds will have a panel discussion at 8pm at Howe Hall Auditorium 8pm at Howe Hall Auditorium. Panelists will discuss the topic "Multidisciplinary Approaches to Eliminating Poverty."
Saturday
Poverty Awareness Week concludes with a live DJ at Club Element from 11pm - close. Open to those 18 and over, cover is $5.
