Abstract: In a world of global spiritualities, the encounter of East and West arises from two equally ancient, rich, and deep traditions, at once parallel and different, which meet one another in the silence of contemplative practices and the dharma talk/homiletic ritual. This presentation will explore interreligious dialogue, and explore the rich parallels of Buddhist contemplative practice and Catholic centering prayer. We will also explore the meaning of reconciliation and tong-len as contemplative act.
