Joseph Lappie, visiting assistant professor of printmaking and book arts at St. Ambrose University and founder/owner of Peptic Robot Press, will offer insight into the history of the production of artists' books.

Lappie received a BFA in Painting and Graphic Design from Ball State University and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Book and Paper Arts from Columbia College Chicago. He is a visiting assistant professor of printmaking and book arts at St. Ambrose University, where he is developing the book arts program. Through his company, Peptic Robot Press, Lappie prints, designs and publishes artists' books and limited-edition poetry books and broadsides.In addition, he runs the Bakery Gallery, a space devoted to artists' books, printmaking, works on paper and textual art, in Davenport, Iowa.

Lappie's work is in collections at the Yale Arts Library, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, among others.
