Barjche 2012: Lost and Found. ISU's annual contemporary dance concert featuring faculty, students and guest artists dance works. Choreography by San Francisco-based guest artist Kim Epifano, Epiphany Dance; Barjche artistic director Cynthia Adams; Ken James, Fellow Travelers Performance Group); and members of Orchesis 1. Musical compositions by Kimberly Fitch.

Barjche, (pronounced Bar-Shay), Iowa State University's annual modern dance concert, was first created in 1946 by three Iowa State students: Barbara, Jean and Charlotte. The founding members of ISU's modern dance club, Orchesis, wanted to include a modern dance concert to give students an opportunity to perform, choreograph, and inspire. Since that time, Barjche has been produced annually by the Orchesis I Dance Company.

The theme for Barjche 2012 is Lost and Found, a contemporary modern dance production inspired by the book Moby Duck, by Donovan Hohn, about the true story of 28,800 rubber duckies lost at sea.

The evening length sectional show weaves in and out like ocean waves; starting from the moment the audience walks into the theater with the sound of waves along with clanging ores and masts. Interlocking sections will touch on topics of water, being lost, waste, chasing into the unknown and obsession, as discussed in the book with Captain Ahab and Donovan Hohn on their different searches at sea.
