Ursula Emery McClure, FAAR, AIA, LEED AP, will present "Against Specialization," the Richard F. Hansen Lecture in Architecture, part of the Architecture Advisory Council Lecture Series at Iowa State University. With Michael A. McClure, Emery McClure is a founding partner of emerymcclure architecture, llc, Lafayette, La. She also is an associate professor in the School of Architecture at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge.

Ursula Emery McClure, FAAR, AIA, LEED AP, will present "Against Specialization," the Richard F. Hansen Lecture in Architecture, part of the Architecture Advisory Council Lecture Series at Iowa State University.

With Michael A. McClure, Emery McClure is a founding partner of emerymcclure architecture, llc, Lafayette, La. She also is an associate professor in the School of Architecture at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, where she teaches graduate studios and seminar courses on Louisiana culture and architecture. She held the Emogene Pliner Professorship in Architecture at LSU and also served as director for the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture Southwest Region from 2008 to 2011.

emerymcclure architecture's award-winning work and writing have been published in numerous journals and popular magazines, including Places, 306090-05, Architectural Record Online, Journal of Architectural Education, Dwell and Southern Living. In 2008, Emery McClure and partner Michael A. McClure were awarded the Gorham P. Stevens Rome Prize for their project "Terra Viscus: Hybrid Tectonic Precedent," and spent a year as Fellows of the American Academy in Rome. Most recently, the firm won the Sukkah City STL competition, and in October 2011 installed its entry on the Washington University in St. Louis campus.

Emery McClure received a Bachelor of Arts in architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master's of Architecture from Columbia University. Prior to cofounding emerymcclure architecture, she worked in New York for Wendy Evans Joseph and Mitchell Giurgola Architects.
