Students will demonstrate a project that shows their understanding of computational thinking, either with a computer or without one. Prizes for three divisions - elementary, middle school, high school - will be awarded, including laptop computers, netbooks, and iPods.

The Computer Science Department will host the 2012 Computational Thinking Competition for K-12 students on April 14 in Atanasoff Hall. Computer Science faculty have been busy during the 2011-12 academic year holding Computational Thinking Workshops and visiting Iowa K-12 schools to help students, parents and educators understand how computational thinking helps kids to better understand math and science.
