"David Blackwell (1919-2010): remarks on his life and work," William Sudderth, School of Statistics, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis

I will briefly sketch the story of how he overcame the discrimination of mid-twentieth century America to become a famous and popular professor at the University of California, Berkeley. Then I will describe some of his contributions to mathematics and statistics.
