Ingrid Lilligren, professor and interim chair of integrated studio arts, will speak about her work in the "Small Pleasures" exhibition on display Jan. 14-May 10 in the Kildee Hall atrium display cases.

The exhibition includes 60 of Lilligren's "Small Pleasures," created one per day over the course of a year.

Each image is a 7-in. square with a background color done in dry pastels and a centered circle of eggshells roughly 4.5 inches in diameter. By working with limited materials and a strict format, Lilligren was able to "explore what it would feel like to do the same thing over and over," and by using a commonplace, formal arrangement, "the widest possible invention could occur within that structure," she says.
